Summer Internship Hackathon Day 1 by Farhan Farooqui

Hello, my name is Farhan Farooqui. I am a recent graduate of Chantilly High School in Chantilly, Virginia and one of the team members of Agileana’s summer hackathon. Besides remarking on the productive day we had, I’d like to give a shout out to Blake and the team who are putting time aside in their busy schedules to train and work with teenagers who although talented, may not be used to traditional work environments.

We started of today by introducing ourselves and getting to know why each of us are here. I learnt a lot about my peers interest in various aspects of web technology and the start up scene. We engaged in personal goal setting and established that what we put into this endeavor is what we will get out of it.

I love the office space, besides being decorated with longboards, independently produced beer bottles and presidential bobble heads there areĀ all sorts of drinks and snacks that I feel like I’m inside a Walgreens or 7/11. My mentors, Luis, Andres and Jenny are highly motivated and appear very skilled in their fields and I look forward to learning from them and building something big under their guidance!

Watch this space,

Farhan
